Saying Farewell

Whether you are arranging a celebration of life, a memorial, an interment of ashes, a funeral or a direct cremation, often these moments of loss can seem too big to even contemplate.

During tender moments in remembrance and emotional moments of heartbreak, I am the person that will listen and hear your story.

During thoughtful moments of wonderful memories and smiles through sadness or overwhelm, I am the celebrant that will support you, hold space for you and guide you towards these precious farewell moments.

Celebrations of Life

At the end of life, let us celebrate in style. Will it be a horse drawn carriage, your loved one’s favourite football club’s colours and shirts, a chocolate fountain with tea and cake in china cups and saucers, a trip down memory lane with a brass band, or a gentle poem in a quiet, peaceful natural burial site?

Will it be bright colours of purples and yellows, bright ties and loud shoes? Symbolic elements of doves, butterflies, an opera singer, or a choir by the lake they loved so much?

We love obscure, out of the ordinary, bright, different, loud or quiet, whatever represents the love for your loved one.

What were their wishes? A gentle goodbye or to go out with a bang of fireworks? Religious or no faith. Either is just perfect, just as they wish.

Not all goodbyes have to be solemn and feeling grey. A celebration of life can do just that. Celebrate with humour, fantastic memories, respectfully yet with a more vibrant style if you prefer.

With a Celebration of life it does not have to be strict on timings or venue location. These are generally a more relaxed farewell, and they do not have to be in a church or religious setting. They could be at a lake, a garden or a community centre.

Funerals

For more traditional services many opt for the funeral as first choice and that in which their loved one has chosen.

Celebrants liaise with the Funeral Directors as to your’s or your loved one’s wishes. Music choices can be chosen, along with poems and readings. However, there are often time limits with so many funerals per day depending on your chosen venue. I can support you with your Eulogies and guide you on word count and delivery during our information gathering.

Some people are unaware they have options such as a celebration of life (as mentioned above) and direct cremations or living funerals or memorials. Please do ask for futher details.

Direct Cremations

If you prefer a direct cremation with no service or perhaps finances are a concern this may be a preferable option for a family member as their wish.
